Beware : Google Adsense keeping eye on you
How Google Adsense knows that you are clicking your own ads?
This question is asked so many times by new users. Even I received one comment on one of my previous posts where user asked me whether I have clicked on my own ads. So let me tell you one thing very clearly, don’t ever try to click on your own ads and never try to fool yourself. Google will surely catch you and soon it will send you the mail saying “Bye Bye!”. Here I have analyzed and make a list of some points describing how Google can know that you are clicking on your own ads.
- Google search: Google keeps track of each and every search made from your PC and your IP.
- Your IP: Google knows what your IP is. Let say you have dynamic IP and it is changing every time, no problem, remember Google is showing all the information regarding your PC in analytics. So they have all the information about your IP.
- Group of IPs: If you try to make group of friends from different parts of the world, then also Google can track everybody and block all the IPs.
- Your PC: Google knows the basic configuration of your PC. (RAM, CPU, BROWSER, etc…)
- Gmail: When you create an account with Google, Google can easily track you whenever you use that account.
- Google Tools: When you registered with any Google API or Tool, you are under the radar of Google. For Example, if you are using the webmaster tool or analytics tool, Google will have all the information regarding your sites and site statistics.
So what I believe Google has more powerful investigating system then Scotland Yard, CIA or FBI.
I suggest instead of getting into this kind of stuff we should do proper link building and SEO for our blog and keep updating unique content frequently.

really a good post, interesting
greetings
=P
i am using adsense since yr…
i know some of these ……
thanks for additional info
Yes, this is very true. It’s just not worth falling out of favor with Google. Over time you can learn to attract readers and increase your monitization. Adsense should really be a supplementation , afterall, it does carry the reader away from your site and potentially your more valuable products.
Since Google has cracked down making quikie adsense sites is rather pointless. Content is king. Also, it is illegal to ask others to “click my ads” as I’ve seen more recently brazenly requested by newbies. This is covered in the T&Cs . Great post
Very thanks for this tips. It;s very useful info for all publisher ads
Great post. really informative. its such a shame that a group can even think of even exchanging clicks.
INteresting post. I knew some of this but didn’t know it was to this extent.
These are awesome information, it’s surely an eye-opener for newbies to Google Adsense. I’ll have to link this to http://www.usaffiliate.blogspot.com
That’s too harsh to say that you get instantly banned from AdSense if you click on your ad.
I encountered dozens of situation when I mistakenly clicked those tiny ads while was developing a layout or WP theme, first I thought I sh*t on myself and mailed AdSense with a “Ooops, sorry.” After a few days they replied no probs, but don’t make it a habit. Also, I didn’t receive a cent for my click, weird
So, from the AdSense team’s answer I get they do realize that there are situations when you click on your ads by mistake, they understand we’re humans not like them, and we do make mistakes. Thus they won’t ban anyone for 1-2 fraud clicks, but don’t expect earning for those clicks.
In addition to your post, they are also watching the route of the connection. Since we’re mostly in the same location our connections to the pagead.googlesyndication.com domain is always the same, combined with the above you said it’s easy to know if it was you who clicked the ads or John Doe from NYC.
I also think they somehow managed to get the clients’ MAC address, that would be the ultimate tracking method.
Just my 2c, have a nice day
Yes i am agree that google is watching you. however, if you click ones or twice ( sometimes by mistake) it is fine. But God forbid to do it all the time.
haha too true! Mistakes can be made, but you cannot make 50 mistakes every day…
Nice blog!

Thanks for this information. I been into internet for years yet I have not find these informations. It really helps to understand Google better.
Interesting summary. Good to know these things. But I know that Google doesn’t penalize for accidental clicks.
I agree on you on that, google really finds it’s way in checking if you are cheating and clicking on your own ads, but what if you go to your site and the ad is really interesting enough for you to be curious to click on it?
Good thing on wordpress there are tools to help you not accidentally clicking on your own ads
@methode
yes they dont ban you for your mistakes… but man if you do that mistake 50 times a day then that is not mistake and google knows that very well
[...] my tips how google is keeping eye on each and every click done on the adsense [...]
Great points! And totally agree with methode I have myself now three times mistakenly clicked on my own ads. Nothing happened, I mean nothing. I didn’t get paid, nor banned. Organic traffic is what google wants, real people, looking for sites like yours and then you’ll be rewarded.
Yeah, and they’re better at protecting it too.
Your blog is very useful, thanks for sharing.
Google, Big Brother is whatching.
Well, this is where Google earns some of their cash so they try their best to protect themselves. You can’t blame them for that. Thanks for the info though. Its very helpful.
Google also knows that I work on my sites in my underwear. Darn that spy cam (they call it a web cam, but we know better…)
That aside, there’s no point in clicking your own ads anyway. The whole system depends on merchants getting something out of the money they put into Adwords. If you want your sites to earn money for the long run, only send them qualified leads.
